2025
As of Wednesday last week, I officially finished my first semester at Temple University. Going to college for the first time was like nothing I’ve experienced before. Being in a new city with so much around me threw me for a bit of a loop, but it eventually sorted itself out. Despite that, this semester was incredibly special, unique, and filled with many new experiences. Philadelphia is a beautiful city with so much art, history, grit, and realness. I’ve enjoyed exploring the many museums and art galleries throughout the area, taking late night walks through different neighborhoods, and studying the architecture of the buildings. To get more school specific, Temple is a great school if you mesh well with city life. It took me a bit to adapt, as mentioned earlier, but once I did, I had an amazing time. My semester was spent between my many art history classes, working in my art school building, attending business meetings, and planning fundraisers for the Adventure Club I am a part of. Keeping busy led me to many opportunities and allowed me to meet people from different walks of life. Despite the small bumps I went through this semester, I intend for the spring semester to be even better and to really dive into what Temple has to offer me. This year, I’ve learned not to overthink things and to take action, realizing that I can’t sit and plan my life down to the last second. I try different things first, see what I like, and use those experiences to guide my decisions. Thank you to everyone on the board of MV Youth! You’ve all given me the ability to pursue my dreams in the art world and truly dive into what I do best. It’s because of you that I am able to take interesting classes, explore one of America’s oldest cities, and continue growing into my best self both academically and creatively.
