MVYouth supplies educational funding for deserving high school students and young adults with demonstrated financial need to pursue college degrees and technical training in a variety of careers.

SELECTION PROCESS

STEP 1
FEBRUARY 8 DEADLINE

Eligible applicants must complete Part One of the online application by midnight. The Advisory Board will assess all applicants using our evaluation tool and identify students to interview. See application link below.

STEP 2
MARCH 24 & 26

The MVYouth Advisory Board will conduct brief interviews before identifying the semifinalist groups.

STEP 3
APRIL 5 DEADLINE

A link for Part Two of our online application will be shared with semifinalists to collect school admission and cost of attendance information.

STEP 4
APRIL 7 & 9

The MVYouth Advisory Board and Trustees will interview the semifinalist groups.

STEP 5
END OF APRIL

Finalists will be announced before May 1. Scholarships will be publicly awarded at the Class Night ceremony on June 5, or at the Charter School or Falmouth Academy graduations in early June.

COLLEGE
SCHOLARSHIPS

Graduating seniors who qualify for financial assistance and have demonstrated exceptional academic performance, character and service are eligible for financial support to attend the college or university of their choice. Applicants are selected based on merit and funding is awarded based on need after families and colleges or universities have contributed. Scholarships will be sustained for four years, providing students meet performance standards.

HEALTHCARE & EDUCATION
SCHOLARSHIPS

Graduating seniors who qualify for financial assistance to pursue degrees in healthcare and education are eligible for financial support to attend the college or university of their choice. Applicants are selected based on merit and evidence that they have explored the career field through mentorship and/or employment experience. Funding is awarded based on need after families and colleges or universities have contributed. Scholarships will be sustained for four years, providing students meet performance standards.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
SCHOLARSHIPS

Graduating seniors and young adults ages 18-25 years old who qualify for financial assistance to pursue one and two-year certification, licensure or associate’s degree programs, both on and off the Island, are eligible for financial support. Applicants are selected based on merit and evidence that they have explored the career field through mentorship and/or employment experience. Financial support will be determined based on need after families and training institutions have contributed, and will be sustained for the duration of the proposed training program.

MVYouth is particularly interested in supporting young people pursuing technical training in the following local careers: automotive technology, aviation, building trades, cosmetology, culinary arts, early childhood, education, healthcare, horticulture & landscaping, interpreting, law enforcement, marine trades, wind technology
